BABY FUNERAL

The loss of a baby or infant is something we hope that no parent will ever have to go through and face. It is one of the most devastating and heart-breaking situations. There is no right or correct way to conduct a funeral for your baby. Agape Bereavement Care strives to be your guide and companion through this tough time of grieving. We provide a wide array of personalised services for you to choose from to process your loss. You can either choose to have a small, intimate memorial service or a slightly bigger service with the support of your family and loved ones. Agape Bereavement Care will be there to assist you with all your needs and preferences.

Embalming services are usually not provided for babies or infants. If the baby is less than 28 weeks, a death certificate will not be necessary and a doctor’s memo to certify the death will be ample. The doctor’s memo will be used to authorise the cremation.

There are currently two types of baby coffins that Agape Bereavement Care provides. The first is a baby coffin that is big enough for the family to place items. We recommend that you place the personal items of the baby into the coffin at the final send-off. Families are also encouraged to write letters to their beloved babies as a form of closure. The alternate option will be a biodegradable box, for babies less than 23cm. The box will be a smaller and more affordable option for the family.

Agape Bereavement Care can also purchase floral bouquets on your behalf to be placed either in or on top of the coffin during send-off. We also work with different partners to provide angel gowns for your baby, if you are unable to source for your gowns.

Once the cremation is done, there are multiple ways for you to handle the remains and ashes.

  • Sea burial can be performed. A boat or yacht will be arranged for you and your family.
  • A staff will accompany you on the boat to assist you with the processes.
  • The ashes can be placed at the columbarium. We can assist you with the arrangement of the niche and urn, to help you find your baby's forever home.
  • The ashes can be placed at home if you will prefer it to be ready and near. Agape Bereavement Care will arrange for urns and help you find the appropriate urn for your child’s eternal resting place.
  • There are also many innovative ways for you to memorialize your baby forever. Some options include storing it in daily accessories, such as bracelets and necklaces.

Agape Bereavement Care will be able to assist you with all the necessary paperwork and logistics for a baby funeral, giving you peace of mind during your time of grieve.
