Sea Burial is an alternative to the traditional columbarium in Singapore. It allows for the decedent’s remains to be dispersed into the sea, with the sea being their resting place forever. We will assist you every step of the way, from the ash collection to the burial. A staff will accompany you from Mandai to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. Once there, you will board the bumboat and be brought out into the open sea. Our staff will teach you the different ways you can scatter, and if need be, assist you with a short prayer. The entire process will take 1 to 1.5 hour.

You can choose to scatter the remains piece by piece, or also choose to drop the biodegradable urn or a white cloth into the ocean at once. The biodegradable urn is made of recyclable paper and clay and does not litter and pollute the sea. The urn will be broken down and disintegrated into particles. The urn does not disintegrate immediately and instead will float for a while before sinking. Another alternative is to use a white cloth to wrap the remains. You can disperse the ashes in the cloth, or to open up the cloth and deposit the remains.

Sea burial is also a cheaper alternative to storing ashes in a columbarium, allowing your loved ones to have the sea as their final resting place. It will be ideal for lovers of nature, returning to nature.  It is also ideal for families who do not want to trouble their descendants to visit them at the columbarium/ burial ground every year. Family members who are sentimental are also able to visit them by the sea during special occasions like anniversary and birthdays.
